To further assist organisations to understand Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme, the Commission for Children and Young People has published new resources, which are now available on our website.

Child Safe Standards

A Guide for Creating a Child Safe Organisation has been updated to reflect learnings from the Royal Commission and provides increased guidance surrounding Child Safe Standards. The guide has been designed to support organisations to develop appropriate systems and strategies to meet regulatory requirements.

Reportable Conduct Scheme

To respond to growing requests from culturally and linguistically diverse communities and multicultural organisations across Victoria, the Commission has also developed two new information sheets that provide an overview of the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. Both have been translated into 15 languages.

We have also designed a brochure about taking children’s safety seriously, also translated into 15 languages. The new information sheets and brochures are designed for organisations to use to educate staff, volunteers and those who access their organisation.

To assist organisations to that are covered by the Reportable Conduct Scheme to comply with the scheme, the Commission for Children and Young People has published a new information sheet on significant neglect under the scheme. Check here to see if the Reportable Conduct Scheme applies to your organisation.
